  • Overview

    Acuity is seeking a Property Claims Specialist to assist the Manager of Property and Auto Claims in the handling/adjustment of Personal and Commercial Lines property claims.  The position requires residence in the Denver, Colorado area.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Involved in all property claims assigned, either handling, directing, overseeing or advising. 
    • Handle storm claims and able to climb roofs.
    • Able to travel anywhere in Acuity’s operating territory promptly. Some weekend and holiday work may be required.
    • Experience with claims litigation process and working with attorneys.
    • Assists in creating and maintaining key consulting partners. 
    • Assists with developing property claim procedures and policies.
    • Assists with the coordination of handling catastrophe teams.
    • Provides property claims training.
    • Analyzes and interprets property policies and coverages for claims, underwriting, and agents.
    • Keeps current with industry practices and trends. 
    • Audits property claim files as requested. 
    • Able to obtain adjuster licensing in states needed.
    • Regular and predictable attendance.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Obtain and maintain Haag Roofing certifications.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: 

    College degree or equivalent.

     

    EXPERIENCE: 

    Minimum five to seven years of property claims experience. 

                           

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledgeable in Personal Lines and Commercial Lines property coverages. 
    • Proficient in matters dealing with residential and commercial construction. 
    • Ability to formulate an estimate of repairs on various construction in an estimating platform.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
